Most National Parks in India are typically open from early October until end June each year, and closed for the months of July, August and September (being monsoon months). While traditionally the best time to travel to India is during the winter months of November through March, the best time for wildlife viewing and particularly Tiger sightings is the months from March to June. At this time, day time temperatures are high, Parks are dry, and large animals including Tigers are frequently seen coming to the few water bodies and water holes in the parks.

Kanha and Bandhavgarh in Central India are known for their high frequency Tiger sightings as is Ranthambore in Rajasthan. In Southern India, the Nagarhole National Park offers excellent Tiger sightings too.

Yes. The Forest Department has strict restrictions on the number of vehicles entering the National Parks for the morning and afternoon safaris. Safari bookings at most National Parks typically open 3 months in advance , and tend to fill up fast.

Yes, at most National Parks, we are able to provide Private Jeep Safaris. There are a few National Parks, notably Nagarhole, where Private Jeep Safaris are not available.

Yes, unlike in Africa , the Forest Department regulates the safari timings. Morning Safaris (during winter months) are usually from 0630 to 1030 hrs and Afternoon Safaris are usually from 1430 to 1730 hrs. Timings are adjusted during the Summer months.

Still and basic Video Cameras are permitted at all the National Parks. Mobile phones are not allowed at any of the National Parks.

No. Unlike in Africa, all accommodation in India is outside the National parks only.
